The Chicago O'Hare international Airport Runway 9L-27R Paving, Lighting and Signing project, a Joint Venture with Kiewit Construction Co., is a part of the O'Hare Modernization Program, which reconfigures to reduce delays and increase airfield capacity.

Runway 9L-27R is 7,500 feet long and 150 feet wide. It is designed to accommodate Group V aircraft, which have wingspans up to but not including 214 feet and tail heights up to but not including 66 feet.

The project includes construction a full-length parallel taxiway and associated high-speed end and crossover taxiways between the runway and the parallel taxiway. Major scope of work includes clearing; grubbing; earthwork; paving; connecting new pavements to the existing runway; and taxiway and shoulder pavements.

Associated elements feature runway and taxiway underdrains and local drainage, and electrical work. Finishing elements include runway and high-speed taxiway pavement grooving and surface applications, pavement marking, topsoil, seed/sod and other erosion control measures.
