Runway 10C-28C Mass Grading (East) South Basin and Pump Station – Kiewit Reyes, AJV

The Chicago O'Hare Airport Runway 10C-28C East Mass Grading project, a Joint Venture with Kiewit Construction Co., consists primarily of grading, drainage and ductbank installation to facilitate the ultimate expansion of the airport facilities. Approximately 2,800,000 CY of on-site excavation and embankment will be handled. The south basin excavation will be enclosed in a 7,000 LF soil bentonite slurry wall and grouted cutoff wall. Approximately 19,000 LF of various sizes of pipe ranging from 12" to 144" along with Approximately 20,000 LF of various sizes of ductbank ranging from 4-way to 30-way will need to be installed. The project also includes approximately 18,700 CY of concrete work for the pump station, junction structures, ductbank and other miscellaneous structures work. The project also includes the installation of 5 Oil-Water separators. The project is within the AOA (Aircraft Operations Area) of Chicago O'Hare airport so special restrictions apply to all areas.
